To remain relevant and profitable in a technologically evolving world, a business has little choice but to likewise evolve business processes and adapt by creatively employing Beneficial Strategies.

General

You have reached the home page of a startup called Beneficial Strategies. Although I hope to grow it into a family business, it is currently a single-man effort by me, Jeff Ward.

History and aim

I embarked on this journey upon taking early retirement from Jack Henry and Associates in September 2023. Using personal assets, I embarked upon a public source project to implement the ISO20022 library because I believe this will be the standard B2B language of business worldwide for the next 20 years. It is also being used hand-in-hand with cryptocurrency blockchains and CDBC efforts.

So far, it is a technological success, but financial stalemate.

I succeeded in implementing the domain model for all 2556 ISO messages. I succeeded in implementing serialization for a subset of those messages with the serialized output passing XSD validation. The source code consists of over 50,000 files, mostly generated from data schema metadata.

The necessary path Forward

Since there’s no built-in revenue model in public source software, it has been entirely dependent upon my use of personal funds and effort. I have reached the end of the “build it and they will come” effort. Granted, I came to the end of this faster than I anticipated. I will not be able to sustain this effort without corporate sponsorship. It’s going to either have to earn such attention, or it’s going to fall by the wayside. I believe what I have built thus far speaks for itself.

In the absence of corporate sponsorship, I will be seeking contract or fulltime work. The ISO20022 goes to the back burner.
